Biography :

PhD.  With a background in physics, an MA in Far Eastern studies and a PhD in international relations, she has monitored treaty developments, including the Comprehensive Test Ban Treaty (CTBT) and Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) from 1994 to the present. With a varied background that has included grassroots activism, campaign organising and consultancy work for the United Nations, the European Union and other government bodies, she was senior advisor for the International WMD (Blix) Commission 2004-06 and is currently Vice Chair of the International Campaign to Abolish Nuclear Weapons (ICAN). She also serves as a special advisor to various international organisations.The United Nations in May 2009 published her book on civil society and government strategies to achieve the CTBT, titled Unfinished Business. PIR Center Advisory Board member since 1994.
