April 19, 2020, was the 70th birthday of Evgeny P. Buzhinsky, a prominent person in the field of international security, one of the most experienced Russian military diplomats and experts. For more than 40 years, Gen. Buzhinsky’s career was associated with the service of the Armed Forces of our country. Currently, he is much in demand in the field of public diplomacy, analysis, and in training of a new generation of experts in the field of international relations.

Colonel-General (ret.), Advisory Board member. Formerly he was an Adviser of the Global Consulting Group. For more than 40 years, worked in the Soviet/Russian Armed Forces' agencies. In 1992-1997, chief of the Main Intelligence Administration (GRU) of the RF Armed Forces General Staff. In 1990-1992, he participated, as the chief of the International Treaties Department of the Armed Forces General Staff, in the preparation of treaties and agreements in the area of arms control and disarmament, including: START-I; Conventional Armed Forces in Europe Treaty; Open Skies Treaty; Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on Their Destruction. PIR Center Advisory Board member since 2002.
