MBA specialising in decision-making and responses to the terrorist and piracy threat to maritime business. He currently lives in Scotland. His main task is consulting on the implementation of the United Kingdom's contribution to the Global Partnership in respect of non-proliferation and physical protection. Recent work has included working alongside project implementation teams assisting a variety of research and operational institutes in Russia and Uzbekistan to enhance their physical security arrangements. A former Royal Navy submariner, he served as a warfare officer between 1977 and 2004. During his final four years he was the Royal Navy's Fleet Security Officer during which he advised on all aspects of security, while overseeing the day to day implementation of security policy in the Fleet. On leaving the Royal Navy he provided consultant services to a London-based international risk management company advising on all aspects of maritime security.
