PIR Center Alumni meeting 2014

27.08.2014

MOSCOW, AUGUST 27, 2014. PIR PRESS – “We would be glad to meet PIR Center alumni at our anniversary celebrations on October 4-5, 2014. For us definition alumni means more than it usually does. Those who successfully graduated from our educational programs belong to our alumni community without any doubt. Moreover, we also count as our alumni people who used to work at the PIR Center regardless their age, social position and affiliation,” – PIR  Center Executive Director Albert Zulkharneev.

In 2014, PIR Center celebrates its 20th anniversary. One of the first independent Russian organizations in the sphere of nonproliferation and global security has been tirelessly working all these years to make the world a safer place. Our team, partners and friends are active in Russia and across the globe.

On October 4-5, 2014, PIR Center invites its alumni to join the celebrations. We will start with discussion of the most pressing global issues and then continue our meeting in more informal atmosphere. On October 4, in Moscow will take place an extended meeting of PIR Center Advisory Board on "Russia and nuclear nonproliferation – toward the NPT Review Conference 2015", followed by the reception in honor of PIR Center 20th anniversary and PIR Center Nonproliferation Award Ceremony. On October 5, PIR Center alumni are invited to meet the participants of International School on Global Security – 2014 in Abramtsevo, one of the most picturesque places in Moscow region.

PIR Center Executive Director  Albert Zulkharneev invited all of our friends to join us: “For us definition alumni means more than it usually does. Those who successfully graduated from our educational programs belong to our alumni community without any doubt: more than 400 people  partcipated in advanced training courses and  PIR Center Summer School, and had their internships at PIR Center; more than 300 students took our visiting lecture courses. Moreover, we also count as our alumni people, who used to work at the PIR Center regardless their age, social position and affiliation. Some of them were at the very beginning of their academic career, while now they head leading Russian think tanks, serve at international organizations, develop their own business. There were also many of those, who joined PIR Center already at the high expert level. We invite all of our friends to join the celebration in Moscow and Abramtsevo on October 4-5.”

More information about alumni meeting you can find at the PIR Center's web site.
