Happy Birthday, Vadim Kozyulin!

MOSCOW, JANUARY 22, 2015. PIR PRESS – “Rejecting nothing of what the life is offering – is my motto,” – today Vadim Kozyulin, PIR Center Senior Research Fellow, celebrates his 50th birthday. Happy birthday, Vadim Kozyulin!

Today Dr. Kozyulin, Dean of PIR Center corps, celebrates his 50th birthday.

Vadim Kozyulin has worked with PIR Center since its foundation in 1994. During his career, he has become one of the leading and most successful Russian experts in military technical cooperation, security in Central Asia and Afghanistan. A 1990 graduate of Moscow State Institute of International Relations (MGIMO), Vadim Kozyulin worked for Soviet/Russian Foreign Ministry and then for exclusive information department of Moscow News Review, maintained close contacts with CIS and foreign special export companies. His PhD thesis was devoted to “Military Technical Cooperation as a Mechanism of Regional Stability in Central Asia”.

Every year Dr. Kozyulin’s lectures are highly appreciated by students of PIR Center International School on Global Security, participants of other workshops and lectures in Russian universities, young foreign researchers.

For this occasion, we have prepared an interview with Vadim Kozyulin for the PIR Center Open Collar project. In the interview Mr. Kozyulin told us why he had not become a lawyer, why he appreciates his military service and studies in MGIMO, how he found his research interests, what was the USSR power about, and what is the secret of a close-knit family.
