Yevgeny Maslin

Colonel-General Yevgeny Maslin was born in 1937. He graduated from the Budenny Military Signal and Engineering Academy, Leningrad, in 1959. General Maslin began his service in military nuclear divisions as a brigade engineer and, in 1997, retired as Chief of the 12th GUMO (Main Directorate of the Russian Ministry of Defense). Yevgeny Maslin was a Senior Advisor to the PIR Center since January 1999 till December 2001. General Maslin has been a General Director of the Arsenal Industrial Group since 2001.
For his military service, Maslin was decorated with many honors, including the Order of the Red Star and For Service to the Motherland, as well as numerous medals. He is also a laureate of the Russian Government Prize and, in 1992, graduated from the Academy of the General Staff. General Maslin has a number of publications to his name, both in Russian and in English. These include articles on nuclear security, verification mechanisms, the CTR program and nuclear nonproliferation.
