WHO IS WHO IN NONPROLIFERATION DATABASE

The PIR Center has been implementing this project since 1994 to enhance information support for its other programs. The database contains reference information about broad range of individuals and organizations dealing with international security, nuclear nonproliferation and arms control or doing research in adjacent areas.

The database contents are arranged in accordance with the type of organization: legislature and executive branch, banks, libraries, commercial and international organizations, mass media, research and scientific institutions, embassies and foundations. The Russian section contains more than 2500 records about contacts in Russia and the NIS. The English part has the same structure and 2000 records and accumulates information about individuals and organizations based abroad.

The database also comprises subscription information, enabling staff to form mailing lists and facilitating dissemination of PIR publications.

All information is strictly confidential and is used by PIR staff only to perform their duties.

Librarian Vitaly Fedchenko is in charge of Russian component of the database, whereas PIR Editor Dmitry Polikanov is responsible for the English part.
