Former Director-General for Political Affairs and Ambassador of Finland to the United States (Washington, D.C.) and to the United Kingdom (London). Other diplomatic assignments include Paris, Geneva, Warsaw, Belgrade and Madrid. He has a B.A. from Stockholm University and M.A. from the University of Helsinki. Fellow at the Center for International Affairs, Harvard University 1985-86.
